Data prospecting

You own the field.
We bring it in.

Wildcatt finds the value buried in your company's own data and works out how to turn it into money. Not the reports you already run. The strikes nobody has drilled for.

The most valuable data in the world is the data you already own and have never drilled.

What we do

Most businesses are farming the surface.

Every transaction, every log, every record you have quietly piled up for years. You own the ground. But the standard reports and the standard dashboards only work the topsoil, while the real value sits deeper, in the questions no one has thought to ask yet. That is where Wildcatt drills. We read the ground, prospect through your data for value the standard tools were never built to find, then do the part most people stop short of: we work out how to turn what we find into money. A new revenue line. A product. A pricing edge. An asset you did not know you were holding.

Versus dashboards

They pump the proven field.

BI tools answer the questions you already knew to ask. Dashboards tell you what happened.

Wildcatt drills the unproven ground and finds the questions worth money.

Versus consultancies

They bill for the trip.

A fixed process, hours on the clock whether they strike or not, and a deck at the end.

Wildcatt is measured by what we bring in, not by hours logged.

Versus your data team

They keep the field pumping.

Your own team is busy with the reports, the pipelines and the queue. Prospecting is a different job with a different temperament.

Wildcatt is the crew you bring in to drill the ground they never reach.

How we work

Survey. Drill. Strike. Well.

Every engagement runs the same honest sequence. Some digs come up dry, and we say so. A duster named honestly is how you earn the right to be believed when you call a strike.

1

The Survey

We read the ground. A short, fixed-scope pass across your data estate to map where value likely sits, and where it does not.

2

The Drill

A focused dig into the most promising seam. Messy data, disparate systems, combinations nobody has tried. This is the work.

3

The Strike

A validated, monetisable find. Sized, evidenced and priced: what it is worth, to whom, and how to capture it.

4

The Well

We bring it in. The find becomes live revenue: a product, a data asset, a pricing change, a new line on the P&L.

We do not bill you for the trip. We bet on the strike.

Wildcatt backs its own read. Where the ground supports it, we share the risk of the dig and take our return from what comes up, not from the hours we spend down the hole.

The name

The wildcatters drilled where the experts said there was nothing.

A hundred years ago the smartest oilmen in Texas were not the big companies with the big surveys. They were the wildcatters. The name came out of the Pennsylvania oil country in the 1870s, where exploratory wells sunk into untested ground were called wild cat wells, and the men who drilled them wildcatters. A wildcatter was never defined by finding oil. He was defined by where he drilled: ground nobody had proven.

They were not reckless. They read surface geology, oil seeps, the colour of the soil, the lie of the land. It was intuition disciplined by experience. On 10 January 1901, at a low rise called Spindletop near Beaumont, Texas, that discipline paid like nothing the world had seen. A self-taught geologist named Pattillo Higgins had been ridiculed for years for insisting there was oil under the hill. The well he started came in at an estimated 100,000 barrels a day, more than every other oilfield in the world combined, and it rewrote an industry. Texaco and Gulf trace their origins to that hill.

"If I strike oil everyone calls it Tom Slick's luck, but I call it largely judgment based upon experience."

Tom Slick, "King of the Wildcatters". Before the Cushing strike made him the largest independent operator in America, they called him Dry Hole Slick.

That is the character we named the company for: the disciplined wildcatter. Judgment, not guesswork. Nerve, backed by a read of the ground. And one twist that fixes the only ugly part of the old trade: we do not drill a stranger's land or gamble a stranger's money. We drill ground you already own. Your data never stops being yours. We just know where to sink the bit.

1876

"Wildcatter" enters the language in the Pennsylvania oil fields: the drillers of unproven ground, out past the edge of the safe and the known.

1901

Spindletop blows in at 100,000 barrels a day after nine years of failure and ridicule. The strike crashes the oil price and births the modern energy industry.

1912

Tom Slick brings in the giant Cushing field after ten dry holes, then cuts the town's phone lines and hires every wagon in town so nobody can beat him to the surrounding leases.

Today

The unproven ground is inside your own business: the data you already hold and have never drilled. That is Wildcatt's field.

Our story

We did not read about this trade. We worked it.

The ground

Years of building software that captured how things really run

We spent years building products that recorded the full, messy, day-by-day reality of how a life and a business actually operate: every event, every decision, every system talking to every other system. We thought we were building productivity software. We were actually learning to read ground.

The strike

A frontier AI lab paid for our data

One of the world's leading AI labs looked at the operational history we had accumulated and paid for it. Not a pilot, not a letter of intent: a completed, verified, paid delivery. Our own company was the first well. We learned exactly what serious buyers of data need, how value is judged, and how wide the gap is between data that sits in systems and data that is worth money.

The rig

We turned the hardest part into repeatable machinery

Extracting a company's data, cleaning it, protecting every identity in it and structuring it into something a buyer will actually pay for used to take us months. We built the rig that does it in days: connectors, irreversible de-identification with a full audit trail, and packaging to whatever shape the buyer needs. The one-off became a capability.

Wildcatt

Now we drill for you

Wildcatt is that experience turned outward. We prospect your data for the value nobody has found, and we build the way to monetise it: sold, productised or put to work. We have been the well. We built the rig. Now we bring in other people's fields.

What we believe

Four things we hold to.

You already own the field.

The value is not something to go buy or collect. It is already under your feet, in the data you have. It never stops being yours.

"The most valuable data is the data you already own."

Judgment, not guesswork.

A calculated bet made by people who read the ground. We have done this with our own data, for the hardest buyer in the world.

"Everyone calls a strike luck. We call it judgment."

We drill where others do not look.

Value hides in the questions no one has asked and the data no one has combined. That is a different job to reporting, and we only do the different job.

"Dashboards answer your questions. We find the ones worth money."

We take the punt with you.

We back our own read. Dusters get named honestly, and our return comes from the strike, not the stopwatch.

"We do not bill for the trip. We bet on the strike."

Your field is waiting.

A Survey is short, fixed-scope and honest: where the value likely sits in your data, where it does not, and what we would drill first. If the ground is dry, we will tell you that too.
